BOOKS

Go and Sin No More
series of novels
by Jeff Keene II
Click on the picture here for a sneak peek inside all three books!

Book 1: Pericope

Pericope – pe·ric·o·pe (pəˈrikÉ™pÄ“) [puh-RIK-uh-pee]

Noun: An extract from a text, especially a passage from the Bible.

Origin: 1650s, from Late Latin pericope "section of a book," from Greek perikope "a section" of  a book, literally "a cutting all round," from peri- "around" + kope "a cutting"

Her entire story takes up only ten verses (John 8:2-11) of the New Testament. We know nothing about her. Brought to Jesus in the temple of Jerusalem as an adulteress, they picked up stones to exact their punishment. Before she knew it, a man names Jesus stood before her and said, "Go and sin no more."
Where did this woman come from?
What was her name?
Where did she go after Jesus saved her?
Follow Pericope as her world falls apart and she believes only death can free her from the turmoil.

Book 2: Yamin

Coming soon

Yamin - ya-min (‘jæmɪn) [YA-min]

Origin: Hebrew for variant spelling of Yamiyn, meaning "the right hand," "the right side," or "the right quarter." As in, the starboard side of a vessel.

Two-thousand years ago, on the ancient shores of the Sea of Galilee, fishermen and their families coped with severe weather, oppressive rulers, and aggressive rivals in a struggle to survive.

Yamin, the teenage son of a dying fisherman, must contend with these trials and being alone … for now. His wealthy best friend always had more and the ambitious young woman Yamin desires wants nothing to do with him. Yamin’s jealousy, depression, and self-pity drive him away from all he has known and loved into a dark and demented world.

While trying to escape his seemingly cursed life, Yamin encounters corrupt Roman soldiers, revenge-driven pirates on the Mediterranean Sea, and a Legion of depraved souls of which only the Son of God can contend (Mark 5:1-20).

Book 3: Lochesh

Lochesh - lo·kaysh (lôḥēš) [LO-kaysh]

Origin: Hebrew for "whisperer" or "one who whispers."

Ancient Capernaum, home to Jesus, and five of his Apostles, was known for its volcanic rock and food processing industries. Put them together and Lochesh's family had a corner on the grain exchange. Well known in the town market for wheat, barley, and the flour made from both, Lochesh's family relied on good weather, trusty donkeys, and a solid reputation.

But when one of their animals contracted a deadly sickness, fear and hatred spread faster than the disease forcing Lochesh into a downward spiral of loss, depression, and waning faith in God.

As he ages from adolescence to adulthood, Lochesh must decide how to survive in an unforgiving world ruled by superstitious neighbors, vengeful Roman rulers, and spiritually blind clerics. (Matthew 8:1-4).

"They once called me a barn. Can you believe that? Before severing my sturdy poles to separate me from dry land. Before dragging my dusty frame onto a barge, towing me across the shallow salty bay, all those years ago. Never had I imagined what waited on the marshes of Long Island’s south shore for this former hulking cowshed. A simple garage, now destined for a new adventure . . ."

Under the Rainbow

The true story of how the famous ruby slippers, the most expensive Hollywood prop in history, were stolen and then recovered 13 years later. Inside you'll find an exclusive interview with the US Secret Service agent responsible, in part, for the shoes' recovery. There are ties to actor/singer Liza Minnelli, comedian Louie Anderson, a Faberge egg, and some stolen Norman Rockwell paintings!

BIO

pirate.jpg

I never thought I'd be a writer. I'm a scientist, a teacher, a Christian, a sailor, a husband, and a father. I've been a firefighter, a researcher, farmer, and adventurer. When attending seminary, I chose to write a ten page research paper on why the Pericope de Adultera - John 8:2-11 - should be included in the New Testament. It was a textual criticism that, since writing, had urged me to create this story about the woman saved by Jesus, not only from being stoned to death, but more importantly, saved spiritually.

I've been happily married since 1994 and have two adult children. Originally from Long Island, New York, we have lived in central Florida since 1998. We love traveling and anything having to do with the great outdoors: hiking, boating, and geocaching, to name a few.

The picture at left was taken when I was preparing to attend the local Renaissance Fair as a peg-legged pirate! (Yes, I have one foot. The tragic result of a line-of-duty firefighting injury in 1989.) For more pictures, see the GALLERY.

I hold degrees in biology, linguistics, and chemistry and currently teach high school science when not writing Christian fiction novels.
